Welcome to Agriquip! We are a third-generation family owned and operated business based in New Plymouth, New Zealand who pride ourselves on having customer satisfaction at the very core of everything we do. Our company specializes in importing high-quality agricultural equipment from industry-leading brands such as McConnel, Bomford, Spearhead, Tuchel, Duvelsdorf, Energreen, Greenpower Generators and Major Equipment.

1970's

Our story began in the late 1970s when our General Manager's grandfather, Ben Capper, started Farmgard Equipment in Auckland, who imported and distributed big brands such as Berti, Celli, Fieldmaster and many more.

1990's

In the early-1990's, Farmgard acquired the importing and distributing rights for Bomford-Turner in New Zealand and Richard Capper put his heart and soul into selling and setting up machines from one end of New Zealand to the other. Moving down to New Plymouth in 1992 Richard setup a new branch of Farmgard in New Plymouth, operating out of his home until a new building was purchased in town to be able to carry stock.

1999-2001

After many years of success, the four sons decided to split up the company into separate businesses to better serve each sector, separating into Fieldmaster, Farmgard and AgriQuip. Richard Capper founded AgriQuip and started with only a small number of products, mainly focusing on Bomford Turner and McConnel reach arm mowers.

As the years passed, we acquired more high-quality and renowned brands. In the early 2000s, we gained the agencies for Spearhead, Cub, Marolin and Tuchel Broomsweepers, further expanding our range of products.

2012

We acquired the Greenpower PTO Generator agency in 2012, an Italian-made generator which has proven to be world-class quality and utility, selling hundreds of units to dairy farms for using during power outages.

2021

In 2021 we secured the Major Equipment agency which has hugely widened our range of top-in-class tractor mounted mowers and toppers.

2024

Now well into our third generation, we are dedicated to upholding our family's legacy of providing reliable, high-quality equipment and exceptional customer service, with the customers satisfaction at the centre of everything we do. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers for many years to come.
