Continental Firewood Processor
When your firewood business demands serious productivity, the Balfor Continental range delivers Italian engineering at its finest. These professional firewood processors turn raw logs into perfectly split, market-ready firewood with speed and precision that'll transform your operation.
From the versatile Continental 416 Joy to the powerhouse Continental 750, each model combines a robust hydraulic chainsaw with heavy-duty log splitters that handle everything from mid-scale firewood operations to commercial production. Built tough with DOMEX splitting wedges and oversized hydraulics that work as hard as you do.
Continental Features
16 to 50-ton splitting force across the range means no log is too tough. The hydraulic wedge system splits cleanly without waste or asymmetrical cuts, keeping your firewood quality consistent.
Manufactured by Balfor in Italy with precision engineering and quality materials. Each firewood processor is built to withstand demanding commercial use, season after season.
Smooth hydraulic controls give you precise command over cutting, splitting, and conveying. The Continental 480 and 750 feature advanced joystick operation for maximum efficiency.
Oversized oil tanks with cooling systems keep hydraulics running efficiently. Built-in compartments store spare chains, tools, and supplies right where you need them.
Standard 2/4-way splitting wedges with optional 6, 8, 12, or even 24-way configurations. Split firewood exactly how your customers want it without changing equipment.

Continental 416 Joy
The Continental 416 Joy hits that perfect balance of power and practicality. With 400mm cutting capacity and a 16-ton splitter, this machine handles the logs that slow down smaller processors while staying nimble enough for varied work sites.
The hydraulic chainsaw cuts clean and fast, while the DOMEX hydraulic wedge splits logs without the waste you get from asymmetrical splitting.
The Sweet Spot for Serious Operators
You get three splitting wedges as standard (2/4, 6, and 8-way), so you're ready for whatever your customers need. The oversized oil tank with oil cooler keeps everything running smoothly during long days, and those built-in storage compartments mean your spare chains and tools are always within reach.
The hydraulic three-stage conveyor moves your finished firewood exactly where you want it, with hydraulic connections for chain conveyors to customise your setup.
For operators wanting to streamline log handling, the 416 can also be paired with optional log decks and feed tables, including:
- Hydraulic log decks
- Fixed log tables
- Tilting log tables
- Additional infeed and outfeed conveyor options.
This is the processor coming into stock at AgriQuip, and it's the model we're backing for operators who want commercial-grade performance without the complexity of the larger units.

Continental 480 Special
Step up to the Continental 480 Special and you're getting into serious territory. The 480mm cutting capacity opens up options for larger logs, while the 22-ton splitter powers through anything you feed it.
The big upgrade here is the multifunctional electric joystick. Instead of individual hydraulic levers, you control cutting, splitting, and the hydraulic slewing conveyor from one position. The splitting wedge flexibility really shines on the 480 with standard 2/4-way splitting and options up to 12-way for specialty orders or bulk production.
Like the 416, the 480 can also be integrated with accessories like splitting inserts and log tables to create a more automated, continuous workflow, including:
- Hydraulic log decks
- Fixed log tables
- Tilting log tables
- Additional infeed and outfeed conveyor options.

Continental 750
When you're running a commercial firewood operation and smaller processors just can't keep up, the Continental 750 is what you need. A 70cm log passage handles timber that would jam other machines, while the 50-ton splitting force powers through gnarly, knotted wood without slowing down.
The operator station is raised and centralised, giving you clear sightlines and control over every function. The log bench uses chains to advance logs into position, the roller conveyor keeps everything moving with motorised rollers, and the double movable splitting grid offers 20 and 24-piece configurations.
The conveyor belt measures 1 meter wide by 6 meters long with hydraulic inclination for on-the-fly adjustments. Work lights keep production running when daylight fades, and high-capacity wheels with hydraulic rudder foot make repositioning straightforward despite the machine's size.
